My second SMEG stand mixer. First one stopped working after 5 years and I thought it was simply time. Bought 2nd in May 2026 and now making weird noises and doesn’t always turn on. I reached out to warranty dept who said they couldn’t hear the noise through the video which unfortunately does not capture it well. Also, it doesn’t always turn on as I try different things to resolve it, like unplug and plug back in. It’s not always consistent, which was how my other one started. They refused my warranty so I fear I have a defective mixer that’s less than 3 months old. Very disappointed and will never recommend SMEG again, even though I used to and own many of their small appliances.
