SMEG 2-Slice Electric Toaster (Pastel Blue)

We purchased this toaster after my wife fell in love with it. I was reluctant at first as this was a little bit more money than I thought was reasonable for a toaster, but changed my mind as I figured that along with a nice looking appliance on our Counter we would be getting something that was high-quality. After less than six months of ownership, the paint that my wife thought was so beautiful, started to flake and crack. We contacted. SMEG and Weir told too bad so sad warranty was only 90 days. I get that for a $50 toaster but when you expect to buy something high-end, you expect it to Last and not become an eyesore on your counter before you even own it for one year. This is an obvious quality issue and nothing related to its use. Very disappointed that SMEG does not stand behind its products.

Extremely disappointed with this product and customer service…Purchased toaster 6 years ago. Rarely used. The centre element burnt out. Called customer service regarding the situation where they provided a solution that would cost us additional money. Would not recommend buying this for the price. I have a Walmart toaster I bought for $30 and has been working for over 20 years…. Riddle me that.
